By harnessing LiDAR data, which provides detailed 3D representations of real-world environments, and integrating it into node-based visual programming platforms I can seamlessly collage various real-world locations together, fostering new abstract locations. This fusion enables me to sculpt immersive and intricate environments, enabling the conception of novel concepts that seamlessly blend the physical and virtual realms. ![[bendingnewcorners_emrah_eg (1).jpg]] ![[bendingnewcorners_emrah_eg (3).jpg]] ![[bendingnewcorners_emrah_eg (4).jpg]] ![[bendingnewcorners_emrah_eg (5).jpg]] ![[bendingnewcorners_emrah_eg (6).jpg]] ![[bendingnewcorners_emrah_eg (7).jpg]] ### Stranded + Distorted #designer #director #styleframes #concepts #### 01 stranded Lidar data is highly dense and contains extensive information. Converting it into subdivision surfaces lacks the flexibility needed for animation or dynamic use. I began experimenting with creating strands from the point cloud data to explore motion possibilities. ![[stranded_emrah (1).jpg]] ![[stranded_emrah (2).jpg]] ![[stranded_emrah (3).jpg]] ![[Strands_Anim_Emrah_92.gif]] ![[Strands_AnimEmrah_01.gif]] #### 02 distorted ![[distorted_emrah (1).jpg]] ![[distorted_emrah (2).jpg]] ![[distorted_emrah (3).jpg]] ![[distorted_emrah (5).jpg]] ![[distorted_emrah (6).jpg]] ![[distorted_emrah (7).jpg]] ![[distorted_emrah (8).jpg]] I'm sure you've come across examples where photos are manipulated and distorted. I'm applying a similar effect to explore how it can alter the visual perspective. What if we delve deeper into these distorted locations? It's like bending time and revealing a new horizon. ### For All Man Kind #designer #animation #filmtitles Exploring the possibilities that might exist if the global space race had continued. For All Mankind is an American science fiction web television series created and written by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi and produced for Apple TV+. The series dramatizes an alternate history depicting "what would have happened if the global space race had never ended" after the Soviet Union succeeds in the first manned Moon landing. <div style="padding:56.25% 0 0 0;position:relative;"><iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/918590218?h=522cdefcac&amp;badge=0&amp;autopause=0&amp;player_id=0&amp;app_id=58479" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write" style="position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;" title="FOR ALL MANKIND_JAMESTOWN TOUR"></iframe></div> For the All Mankind Jamestown Tour, I joined the project during mid-production. This movement emerged in the 1950s and 1960s, characterized by large fields of flat, solid color that aimed to evoke emotional responses from viewers. Noland's exploration of color and form aligns closely with the principles of Color Field Painting, which sought to emphasize the expressive potential of color itself. Noland drew inspiration from fellow Color Field painter Morris Louis, whose innovative techniques and vibrant use of color deeply influenced Noland's artistic approach. Louis's Color Field paintings, characterized by their large, unbroken expanses of color, served as a catalyst for Noland's exploration of similar themes in his own work. <div style="padding:41.67% 0 0 0;position:relative;"><iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/21909749?badge=0&amp;autopause=0&amp;player_id=0&amp;app_id=58479" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write" style="position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;" title="COLR"></iframe></div><script src="https://player.vimeo.com/api/player.js"></script> ![[colr_EmrahGonulkirmaz (4).jpg]] ![[colr_EmrahGonulkirmaz (1).jpg]] ![[colr_EmrahGonulkirmaz (2).jpg]] ![[colr_EmrahGonulkirmaz (3).jpg]] ![[colr_EmrahGonulkirmaz (5).jpg]] | Direction & Design | Emrah Gonulkirmaz | | ------------------ | ----------------- | | Sound Design | Mert Kizilay | ### BRINK #creative #director #designer #animation #experimental #shorts Brink endeavors to transcend the concept of identity through a shift in perspective.
